Sometimes you have an idea that you sit with for years and it doesn’t change, it doesn’t diminish in it’s desire to be realised and you still feel excited about it every time you think of it, it could even be the start of a shift in your work, it feels important, but you don’t know how important because you haven’t made it yet. The only barrier is that it’ll cost a lot in time and money, so it never gets made. The 6 week Black Isle Artist Residency was an opportunity to pursue one of these ideas. The Powderhall Bronze Foundry in Edinburgh were absolutely brilliant. They were lovely, welcoming, spent the day showing me everything there was to see (lots), took my strange project seriously and did a brilliant job of it. I’ll let the pictures tell the story.
