On Collaboration at Objectspace in Auckland..once again with this man! Karl Fritsch how shall we do it? what shall we do.. together

?20160106_140159-1

Here is the piece that Karl and I put together for the ‘Specials’ show in Munich, a fantastic clutter of objects and muka, tinkering together to bring something that resembles a tangled fishing line hauled up from off the wharf after a day out fishing not catching much until…that thrilling moment of pulling this up!!

We start anew this time we collaborate as contemporaries, perhaps a mind shift or just a slight shift to the left.  My idea for the ObjectSpace exhibition has been brewing and maturing for awhile.  It is the collaboration part with karl, where he fits into the process that is challenging at this stage.

At the moment I am still contemplating the work that will be in the show.  However, the ideas I have will be presented as video and photos and perhaps some object response to the project.
A small advert will be placed in the local newspaper. ‘Pounamu repairs and restringing ‘with my email address as contact.   People who apply will be requested to be interviewed on video or audio.  My interest is of their beliefs, values and stories relating to their peice. Their cultural understandings and misunderstandings.  Overall their story and their relationship to their peice of Pounamu.  Fine details still needing attention!

I will be talking with Karl about this idea and see what he thinks and where he may fit into this project.  It will be happening within the next few weeks..
